The Fridge Splurge

Carpentry continues inside the house, but the skirting boards and architraves aren't really that exciting. We are looking forward to our front and laundry doors arriving and for a bit of a clean up inside the house (which is a lovely sawdust green currently). 

In the meantime we paid a visit to Harvey Norman and just couldn't resist the urge to finally purchase our fridge. They gave us a great price and will hold off ordering the fridge from the warehouse until a couple of weeks before handover. We ended up purchasing a Samsung 680L French Door Fridge and I can't wait to have all of the space as well as the ice maker and clever features of this model. I really wanted the same model with Soda Stream built in, but the price difference was crazy ($4999 for that particular model). Thousands cheaper to just buy the non-sparkling fridge and a separate soda stream! 

                        

I love the idea of the counter height middle drawer which has adjustable sections and a choice of four cooling settings for wine, deli snacks, cold drinks and meat. There are also triple foldable shelves so that we can stand up tall items like jugs or cakes (I bake a lot). 

   

Bring on dinner parties, we are ready! 

I will finish with a sneak peak of our Lin One doors in the kitchen, laundry and master bedroom areas - can't wait to see them stained and with handles.

    That's the fridge my wife wants! :)

    Those doors are going to look brilliant stained.

    Thanks Brad, we are staining the doors in an almost clear stain so that the natural tones come through :)
    Your wife has good taste haha! Definitely shop around, we saved around $600 by just getting some online prices and getting them to match or beat them.

    Your house looks gorgeous. Its been amazing to read your blog and get so much info. Thanks you soo much!!!!

    I am regretting that i dint choose a bold colour for my splashback. The yellow is just amazing.

    Just quickly wanted to ask you, the samsung fridge 680l, when you got it would remember what the total depth was with the packing. Our front door is only 820mm, and i am realising that my dream fridge might just not fit through the door :(. Hope you can help!!!

      Hi there, thank you for your lovely comments! I think the 680L fridge is 788mm deep and the handles won't be attached when it arrives, so you should be able to get it in your door sideways. Harvey Norman delivered ours and pulled the packing off in the truck and then used slide sheets to get it into place. Fingers crossed you should be ok!
