The Painting Continues

Since our cabinetry installation earlier this week we have had tradies in fixing a section on the roof which apparently wasn't bolted down properly. We also had our painters back today doing the last coats of paint. Today they did the down pipes, front door, internal doors and bathrooms. They should only have a day or two left next week.

Next week the tilers are due back along with the fireplace installation. The measurements have been taken for our stone bench tops and the cabinet maker has to come back to install our kick boards, soft close cupboards in the kitchen and remaining vanity in the powder room. Our SS said he may have a handover date for us next week!

This afternoon I spent longer than I'd care to admit opening and closing the soft close kitchen drawers. So cool, can't wait to try and slam the cupboards when they are done haha!

I got a few more shots of the main bathroom with cabinets installed, along with our freshly stained front door (which is amazing). We also have the desk installed in the activity room - never knew it was going to have a random metal leg *puzzled*

  2. Thanks Ann! Every time I see our front door all I want to do is give the big handle a good clean to get the dirty finger prints off it haha. That sounds like a good idea with the sink mixer in your kitchen. It's one of those things you don't give much thought to in colours, we got lucky and ended up with a fancy pull out mixer as part of our upgrades package. Go visit the guys at Reece, they were endlessly helpful for us even though we never actually spent money in their store.
A little part of me wishes we had left electrical for after handover. The MDJ sparky does a good job but he really doesn't care about our requests in terms of where switches and lights are placed. Our fancy switches either side of the bed in the master are uneven by 13cm so now one with nearly be under the bed head. I'm worried our pendants will be off too :(

I feel like cleaning every time i visit as well,,it gets its final clean on saturday yay,,we are also having pendant lights in our bedroom,,we wont put them in till our bed is in its place, then we can see where the lights have to go as well as the switches,,same with the dining table,we have spent so much money on electrical gadgets,,hubby now wants to put sensor down lights all around the house in the eaves,,im glad it was his idea,,,or was it? lol cant wait till monday, all the finishing details are happening,,i started packing, i lasted about 10 minutes,,i cant get motivated,,im really not taking much with me,,leaving it all to one of my sons,,,cant wait till all the delivery trucks roll up,,with all the new stuff,,just like chrissy i think,,i luv santa (HUBBY),,,u cant have too long to go now till handover, ,,getting closer every day :-)

  4. Looking great Hun, Love the colours they go together nicely. Hahaha I did the same thing with my soft close drawers....tho I do still try to slam them when I've got the shits, and they don't make a noise....boo!
That must have been good news to hear from ur SS, keeping fingers crossed that HO is soon.

  5. I'm love the colors that you chose! They all look complementary, and the color scheme outdoors even matches those found indoors. Was this by design or by coincidence? Take it easy on those cupboards though. You don't want to wreck them before you even move in. Take care!

  6. Thanks Suzanne for your comment! We did try to design the outside so that it would compliment the Interior colours without being to 'matchy'. All we really went from was the idea of coastal colours that are natural and bright. The completed house has some more colour variation inside but we are very happy given that we have never done any designing before :)
